COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY --- Work towards next year's Chairman's Award Submission There will be a spaghetti dinner benefiting the Ross Township Food Pantry on Thursday, May, 14 from 4 PM until 7 PM. The event will be at the Greek Church on Madison Street (from Meijer store just across US 30). They could use some volunteer help and I told them that I would see if the RoboDogs could lend a hand. Ideally they could use 2 team members from 11 AM until 3 PM and 2 members from 3 PM until 7:30 PM. Lori and I will both be working the benefit dinner and I have agreed to act as your supervisor.
I e-chatted with Dr. Ban and he has approved this, however you must have your parents OK if you will be missing any school and they must call it in. Also volunteering for this event qualifies toward the school's community service requirements - just bring the form with you and we'll have it signed.
If you are interested, please post a response below or email us.
Hello all,
Valpo is holding a VEX competition on May 16th. The cost is only $10 plus a few
items for their local food pantry.
DUCT TAPE IS ENCOURAGED!! In fact, they have an award for the most creative use of duct tape.
If you are interested in joining please reply on this thread. We have more than
enough materials to supply several teams. It should be a lot of fun, and not a lot
of cost or time.
We can probably just meet once to brainstorm and start building robots. Once more
to finalize the robot and practice, and then one last time at Valpo to compete.
The game rules, etc are available here:
http://www.cybearcats.com/ Then click on the muli-colored box on the left that says WHS VEX Competition. Click on 'Rules to the game" to see the pdf file explaining the contest.
